1. as引导定语从句

As引导定语从句时，可以引导限制性定语从句，也可以引导非限制性定语从句，并且在句中可以充当成分，通常为主语、宾语或者表语。引导限制性定语从句时，常使用 the same…… as as……as 或者 such ……as这样的结构。比如：

I should like to use the same tool as you used yesterday.

Repeat this as often as it necessary.

当as用于修饰非限制性定语从句时，通常用逗号把从句与主句分开，此时可译为“正如”，并且从句位置也相对灵活，可以放置于句首，句中或者句末。比如：

As is known to everybody， the moon travels round the earth once every month.

The moon travels round the earth once every month， as is known to everybody.

The moon， as is known to everybody， travels round the earth once every month.

2. as引导状语从句

As引导状语从句可分为以下几种，即让步状语从句、时间状语从句、方式状语从句、原因专业从句以及比较状语从句。

（1）当as引导让步从句时，需要部分倒装，此时会把从句中表语、状语或者谓语动词提到as前面，翻译时常译为“尽管，虽然”。如：

Strong as he is， he is afraid of pain.

Try as he does， he still doesn‘t finish the task.

（2）as引导时间状语从句时，主句动作和从句动作往往同时发生，因此，as可以译为“随着”、“一边……一边”。

As we walked， we talked.

（3）as引导方式状语从句

as表示方式时可以翻译成“按照，像……一样”

You must do everything as I do.

（4）as引导原因状语从句

as引导原因状语从句时，通常会放在句首，表示听者已经知道或者了解的信息。

As the weather is fine， we decide to walk to the restaurant.

（5）as引导比较状语从句

最后，as还可以引导比较状语从句，通常会使用 as……as 表示“像……一样”。其中前一个as是副词， 后一个as才是连词。

I can‘t run as fast as he can.
