主任医师翻译为“archiater”合不合适啊，请高手指教！我总觉得chief doctor 有点科主任的意思。

在中国来说，一说应该是professor

但以本人的拙见，还是Chief physician比较合适，因为在词典中professor并无主任医师的意思，可能在部分注重职称或行政职务的人眼中两者等同，但是在实际的操作过程中还是应当既兼顾英文的习惯，又考虑到中国特色
